http://www.youtube.com/Encogni... http://www.encognitive.comNew Age meditations are often influenced by Eastern philosophy and mysticism such as Yoga, Hinduism and Buddhism, yet may contain some degree of Western influence. In the west meditation found its mainstream roots through the hippie- counterculture social revolution of the 1960s and 1970s when many of the youth of the day rebelled against traditional belief systems. [26][edit] Sikhism Main article: Nām JapōIn Sikhism, the practices of simran and Nām Japō encourage quiet meditation. This is focusing one's attention on the attributes of God. Sikhs believe that there are 10 'gates' to the body; 'gates' is another word for 'chakras' or energy centres. The top most energy level is the called the tenth gate or dasam dwar. It is said[attribution needed] that when one reaches this stage through continuous practice meditation becomes a habit that continues whilst walking, talking, eating, awake and even sleeping. There is a distinct taste or flavour when a meditator reaches this lofty stage of meditation, as one experiences absolute peace and tranquility inside and outside the body.Followers of the Sikh religion also believe that love comes through meditation on the lord's name since meditation only conjures up positive emotions in oneself which are portrayed through our actions. The first Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Nanak Dev Ji preached the equality of all humankind and stressed the importance of living a householder's life instead of wandering around jungles meditating, the latter of which being a popular practice at the time. The Guru preached that we can obtain liberation from life and death by living a totally normal family life and by spreading love amongst every human being regardless of religion.Taoism includes a number of meditative and contemplative traditions. Originally said to have their principles described in the I Ching, Tao Te Ching, Chuang Tzu and Tao Tsang among other texts; the multitude of schools relating to Qigong, Neigong, Daoyin and Zhan zhuang are a large, diverse array of breath training practises in aid of meditation with much influence from later Chinese Buddhism and with much influence on traditional Chinese medicine and the Chinese as well as some Japanese martial arts. The Chinese martial art T'ai Chi Ch'uan is named after the well-known focus for Taoist and Neo-Confucian meditation, the T'ai Chi T'u, and is often referred to as "meditation in motion".Often Taoist Internal martial arts, especially Tai Chi Chuan are thought of as moving meditation. A common phrase being, "movement in stillness" referring to energetic movement in passive Qigong and seated Taoist meditation; with the converse being "stillness in movement", a state of mental calm and meditation in the tai chi form.

Im interested in this but i have some questions1) Can there be noise in the background like birds chirping, a water fountan, or the sound of a fan? (I'm not talking about the noise of chatter or something really distracting, just the noises i listed)2) How do I know when I am in meditation and receiving cosmic energy and how do you know when to stop?3) If I'm 16 years old, should I meditate 16 minutes once a day? Or should I do more?4) What happens if i get a bad itch or need to sneeze?

@mrandisheh I guess about expectations it's really a thin line because you want to achieve a goal but it takes patience and when you're pushing it will cause craving and that's what we really want to take distance from.

@mrandisheh I guess there are 1000s of way's to meditate most important is that you believe in what you're doing. And you keep practicing something around 2 times 1 hour a day. Whit Vipassana (Buddhist meditation) they believe it has something to do whit karma so if used and you still do things what you know will harm others it will not work to full potential because you also harm yourself mentally that way.

Please also remember that drinking a cup of your own urine daily is essential for a healthy chakra.

diet is extremely important! drinking clean water (at least 8-10 cups daily). fresh organic vegetables and fruits, digestive enzymes, liquid vitamin B complex/omega 3/6/9 soft gel(look up skate and cod liver oils are also fantastic),meat is ok but not too much and only organic and preferably no pork! remember that sugar is #1 psychic ability killer as well as anything with white flour and rice.and the last but not least unconditional love, service the others and compassion are the most important

@dragmits im not sure what that is but I have been practicing on my own using a candle and piece of quartz crystal and burning a nag champa..using the exact method presented in this video..and I had great success! but the key is not to have an expectation because this is just the matter of time and everybody CAN achieve this.
mrandisheh (28/01/2012 - 2:24)
@dragmits u can use your human potential in any manner you want since this place is still a freewill zone...the point is that everyone of us could have the intelligence and the vision to become a spiritual leader now if some people are using this it in the wrong way thats their choice u dont have to be evil if u are a leader! so dont take it as a negative thing..like I said David Wilcock can tell u much more on the subject

@elmo1057 I agree with you on that about the fruits, but at the same time I think that fruits have seeds. So the purpose of the plant is to spread his seeds to survive and multiply like you said. But animals multiply also by mating. So what's the diference now? About the nervous system, we don't know yet if plants feel in a diferent way without having a nervous system. I think human beings are taking advantage of consuming too much. We need to have a balance.
elmo1057 (26/01/2012 - 21:53)
@RievenRast even you agree that cutting your grass is not the same has skinning a cow alive..even you agree that plants are living so do i...and even you agree that animals are very different from plants...and plants and fruits the food that earth has given us...the food that never dies....keeps on multiplying....the smell of fruits and herbs attract us...no pain...no nervous system...no blood :) i dont eat meat because i love the planet and the living beings on it...
